Of course it is great to see the winners at an international sled dog racing event. But it is also great to see the whole sled dog racing community (with Hounds - Alaskans - Huskies) at one spot. Like at IFSS WC 2011 in Hamar, Norway.
The winners may very often be the same, which should be seen with respect and admiration for their hard work and enormous (not only financial) efforts - year by year.
But we also like to see the faces of mushers that may not always conquer a place at the podium. And isn't this the real purpose of an international chgampionship? To meet from various parts of the world and to be together for some days and to plan the next trip to do it again and again ...?!
Seen in this perspective, the IFSS WC 2011 in Hamar was a great event. We'll try to add some more FACES to our small
IFSS WC 2011 - Hamar - Slide - Show ... and really hope to see a lot of these "faces" again and again at international sled dog racing events ... wherever they may take place.
