IFSS WC 2015: Lars Lindh, Sweden
It's always great to meet people at an international sled dog race from far away. Almost 'at home'. And to know them from years before. Like Lars Lindh from Kiruna, Sweden.
His journey to Todtmoos, Black Forest was one of the - if not the - longest: 3.000 km one way!
His teams consisted of these dog athlets (see sled dog photo):
In lead: Kersti and Dizzy. In point: Cash and Cyanid. In team: Sniper Jr and Gilla. Wheel: Driks and Stripe.
is Petra and Lars Lindh's dog. The other seven are dogs from Taina Teräs
from Ånäset, Sweden. This is about 600 kilometers south from Kiruna. The age of the dogs in team is 3 - 5 years.
Taina trained the dogs in fall and early winter. Then Taina moved to Kiruna to Petra and Lars in January. So Lars could start with sled training. "It was very cold in Kiruna down to - 30°C. It was tough for the dogs who are normally living inside. But the dogs had a good time running loose in the camp of Petra & Lars. Lars did a great job training the dogs on trails of Laxforsen." Taina says.
The plan to do so was dveloped in late autumn last year.
The reward for this procedure: IFSS WC - bronze medal!
Congratulations for this remarkable cooperation and for this remarkable effort.
By the way, today it's Lars' birthday!
Happy Birthday to Kiruna!
