Und bald auch Sprint FISTC Weltmeisterschaften 2011 in Donovaly (Slovakei). Dort werden wie immer Zehntausende Menschen erwartet. Manche sprechen sogar manchmal von 100.000 Menschen - zumindest "gefühlt".

An Anzahl Welt- Europa - und sonstiger hochkarätiger Meisterschaften (diverse Deutsche, Thüringer, Bayrische, Norddeutsche, Mitteldeutsche, Süddeutsche, ...) hat es in dieser Saison wahrlich nicht gemangelt. Es wird Zeit, dass sich einmal einer etwas anderes überlegt. Aber WAS und vor allen Dingen WER ...?
Den Gipfel der Meisterschaften werden die Norweger in dieser Saison abschießen. So viele Weltmeisterschaften und so viele Weltmeister gab es in einem Land noch NIE! Und nebenbei gibt es noch das nördlichste Rennen der Welt, die längsten Rennen Europas, die Langdistanzrennen mit den meisten Teams, die ... und ... und ... und ...
In Mitteleuropa fallen trotz guter Bedingungen Rennen mangels Teilnehmerinteresse aus ... kein Wunder bei dem Feuerwerk der Meisterschaften und hoch attraktiver Rennen überall.
So oder so, es gibt Rennen, da läuft etwas und Rennen, die laufen sich tot ... leider.
Auch in Deutschland gab es ein Schnee - Schlittenhunderennen mit einer beachtlichen Teilnehmerzahl, auch aus dem internationalen Bereich, in Frauenwald. Und mit zudem hochkarätiger Besetzung, sowohl bei den Reinrassigen als auch bei den "Offenen".

Schade, dass man die Zeiten mit denen in Hamar nicht wirklich vergleichen kann: Hege war 34,98 km/h, Xandi war 28,97 km/h schnell. Laut Angaben fuhr Hege in Hamar 30,8 km, Xandi fuhr 33,8 km. Die Strecke in Hamar dürfte etwas schneller sein (Kälte/Präparation) und etwas weniger profiliert ...

Nordwestlich Oslos findet das Hallinglopet statt. In Ranten (130 km von Oslo entfernt) befinden sich Start und Ziel des Rennens. Es gibt unterschiedliche Klassen und unterschiedliche Distanzen. Auf der langen Distanz (160 km) hat Sigrid Ekran das Rennen für sich entschieden. Aber auch andere Amazonen des Mushersports halten sich in den obersten Bereichen der Ergebnisliste auf: Nina Skramstad und Inger-Marie Haaland, die wir gerade im Nobel - Skiort Megeve am Mont Blanc in Frankreich getroffen haben. Sie sagte: "Gut, dass ich hier beim La Grande Odyssee nicht auf dem Schlitten stehen muss!" Sie war auf Einladung ihres Sponsors EUKANUBA vor Ort.
Kjetil Hillestad aus Norwegen (siehe Photo) war der einzige ernst zu nehmende Gegner in der OPEN CLASS SPRINT für Michael Tetzner aus Schleswig - Holstein beim Hamar Sled Dog Race in Norwegen am letzten Wochenende. Michael Tetzner hat das Duell mit 7 Sekunden für sich entschieden. Ergebnisse gibt es HIER!

No matter if first or last at the result list of LGO 2011 at the end of the race, it will be a great challenge for all mushers and all dogs to participate and cross the finish line.
... a world star (almost) Till Demtroedr is participating next weekend at Pullman City Quest, a very special husky event with aprox. 10 to 20.000 spectators, depends - as always - on weather conditions. Would like to be there, but we'll visit (definitively) world class mushers at La Grande Odyssee close to Mont Blanc in France ...
The North German actor will start at Pullman City with helmet and protectors in the 8 - dogs - class (Huskys) for the very first time. We are sure this guy will end up with 16 Alaskan Huskys at the Yukon Quest (without protectors) ...!
Pullman City is a Western Town in Lower Saxony. The husky event will be probably the most successful event in financial terms in the whole sled dog season in Germany. Spectators paid last year 5 € (x 20.000 !) ... and there is a lot to see, to buy, to drink and to eat ...

The North German actor is also active as organiser of a special Husky promotion in Austria/Tyrol with a huge number of high grade prominent stars and starlets and - of course - high grade sponsors. He is also organising Golf and Horse events. A real professional!
In the meanwhile some other sled dog events, like Langtaufers and others suffer because of lack of participants. It's a little like last winter: lots of snow, but not enough dog teams at races ...
